Remember Her

When she exhales her last breath, know that she loved you with the greatest love she had.

When she speaks her last word; understand that she desired you to listen instead of solely hear.

When she closes those pretty brown eyes never to awaken to another beautiful sunrise; remember the love you two freely shared

The choices you made to love her unconditionally after incisions, scans, and treatments

How you stood with and by her when she was forced to shave her head before chemo destroyed it all 

How you fed her when she grew tired and clothed her when she could no longer stand on her own

How you were the light in the darkness, the friend to the friendless, and a listening ear to her soft-spoken words

She desires the best for you; because she will always and forever love you.

When you can no longer see her, hold her, nor speak and laugh with her

Remember her and allow the memory to become the treasure you longed for.
