Change of Heart

Devotion is a beautiful thing… until either heart changes. 

God forbid that each party has a change of heart, but there is no discussion to share. 

Neither want to hurt the other, until the frustrations become too hard to bear.

Instead of locking in, looking inward, praying, and coming together as one

They seek outside sources, exes, family, and friends for advice.

Instead of certified therapists, ordained pastors, trained professionals, the Word of God, and those with actual experience to properly advise.

An error too heavy, too complicated to disguise

That leads to greater resentment, envy, then deep-rooted bitterness overtime.

Over the course of time - hours, days, weeks, months, years.

When and how does love become so tainted over time?

Deception begins as a tiny seed, as it appears harmless in the beginning stages

But like all living things, it grows, expands, and becomes something greater 

Inexcusable lies, hypocrisy, betrayal, treachery, trickery, and fraud

As the relationship becomes damaged beyond repair and the commitment is no longer there.

Instead of having a simple conversation, each party implodes emotionally.

Neither want to hurt the other, until the frustrations become too hard to bear.

After too much pressure, one finally erupts under the weight of his own heat.

The magma erupts, and lava and gases are released with fury.

The shockwave triggers the volcano nearby to explode and rise simultaneously releasing the same energy, passion, and earth's molten blood as it flows through the land.

The powerful forces of nature which can build and yet destroy.

Devotion is a beautiful thing… until either heart changes. 

When and if it does, take a moment, look inward, then make time to discuss privately with your partner.

Communication is key, mutual respect is the foundation that makes it possible.

Respect yourself and your partner enough to keep curious minds out of your relationship. 

Not everyone is for you, and not everyone wants or even knows what is best for you.
